Parkway Drive

Byron Bay, Australia; situated on the far north coast of New South Wales, it's arguably one of this planet's most idyllic tourist destinations. A tranquil paradise of immaculate sandy beaches and lush tropical rainforest, it's full of surf retreats, hippie communes and backpacker hostels. Perhaps the most notable thing to come out of the place prior to 2003 were surfing champs and picturesque postcards, but all that changed with the spawning of Parkway Drive.Blasting out of Byron, almost as an affront to the serenity of their surrounds, Parkway Drive quickly established themselves as the most formidable force Australian heavy hardcore had ever seen. A five-piece of awesome power and charisma, they caused a storm in their homeland that is quite literally without precedent.

VANNA

Rising out of New England's surging post-hardcore scene, Vanna have emerged with intense brutality to stake their claim at the forefront of the genre. With relentless touring, an inexorable passion for music and an army of dedicated fans by their side, the band has clawed their way out from the underground to debut their first full-length album, Curses - a sonically ferocious album that features the group's unique blend of blistering metal and cathartic melody.Vanna's inception dates back to 2004 when founding members Nick Lambert (guitar/vocals), Evan Pharmakis (guitar/vocals) and Shawn Marquis (bass) met and began playing music on the campus of Massachusetts College of Art. In early 2005 the group recruited Brandon Davis (drums), who at the time was playing guitar for the local hardcore act Therefore I Am.

Story Of The Year

Band Enters Studio with John Feldmann and Elvis Baskette, Epitaph Debut Scheduled for Spring 2008St. Louis-bred five piece Story of the Year have signed with Los Angeles-based stalwart Epitaph in what is perhaps the perfect marriage of like-minded individuals. The deal partners one of the world's largest independent record companies, which advocates creative freedom for its recording artists, with a band known, in spite of their superstar status, for a tireless do-it-yourself work ethic and willingness to take risks and push boundaries musically."From my first time seeing Story of the Year light up the stage of the tiny Troubadour club like a torch, to soon thereafter seeing them light up every TV screen across America, I always regretted that I hadn't come across them just a little sooner and perhaps have had the chance to sign them," says Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz. "All I can say is I'm finally redeemed! This is a very big deal for Epitaph."

Escape The Fate

ESCAPE THE FATE is running away. From what? Singer Ronnie and guitarist Omar both will say failure and irrelevance. And aside from some basic agreements that contemporary rock n' roll is bad, that?s the last time they'll agree. Theirs is a combustible, but constructive, discord that propels them away from an end that nips at every band's heels. This, and the gnawing truth that for rock bands, There Is No Sympathy for the Dead and Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. There Is No Sympathy for the Dead is ETF's debut EP, and it's been selling like the proverbial hotcake thanks to its guileless combination of sincerity and intensity. It now runs headlong into the full-length Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, infused with the same manic, intense desire to wake people up.
